Miles focuses his practice primarily at the intersection of energy and trade secret litigation, helping energy companies resolve business disputes and protect their intellectual property. Brett currently serves as an in-house attorney with EnCore Permian, a Midland-based upstream exploration and production company backed by a large private capital firm with over $8 billion in assets. Active in multiple organizations dedicated to energy law and land operations, and serves on the Institute for Energy Law’s Young Energy Professional Committee. Brett grew up in and around Buffalo, NY and went to law school there, but decided to take a risk by taking the bar exam in Texas and chasing a career in energy law out in Midland, Texas.
