Prior to the current global pandemic that is uprooting the industry and–more importantly–many lives, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom Ciarlone, a Director at Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC in Houston. We had a wide-ranging discussion that touched on EnCore Permian, my background, unique things that make the Permian Basin what it is, and the likelihood of a market consolidation whether by voluntary or involuntary means. We are obviously now living through such a consolidation event, although not for the reason we would have predicted at the time. I’d be humbled if you take time to listen, and hope it provides some value: http://energylawroundup.com/energy-law-round-up-782020
Podcast Discussion on “Energy Law Round Up”
Published by Brett Podkanowicz
I currently serve as an in-house attorney with EnCore Permian, a Midland- and Austin-based upstream exploration and production company backed by a large private capital firm. Active in multiple organizations dedicated to energy law and land operations, and serves on the Institute for Energy Law’s Young Energy Professional Committee. I grew up in and around Buffalo, NY and went to law school there, but decided to take a risk by taking the bar exam in Texas and chasing a career in Texas. So far this Yankee carpetbagger has not been kicked out of Texas, yet. This blog will serve many purposes and touch on many topics, including but not limited to discussion of interesting industry articles, developments in oil and gas law, professional development, and sharing opinions on relevant issues.
